Canterbury Castle is a Norman castle, dating from 1066, the original site was at Dane John. The present castle dates from the 14th century. Grade I listed, Link
and a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
Grade I listed buildings and structures are of exceptional, even international importance. There are over 6,000 in the country. Only 2.5% of listed buildings are Grade I listed.
