Liverpool Street Underground Station

Liverpool Street Underground station is served by the Central, Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines, and is the sixth-busiest on the London Underground network. In common with other tube stations serving Central London termini, it is in fare zone 1. The station opened in 1875 as Bishopsgate and was renamed in 1909.

The Gherkin is an astonishing building and could be one of Lord Foster's finest architectural achievements. It totally dominates the City skyline and, as a City of London guide taking groups on walking tours of the Square Mile, I am frequently asked questions the structure.
