The escarpment ends about 200 metres ahead, where this path makes a gentle descent to meet one that runs along the foot of the crags: NS4377 : A path to lower ground.

The Doughnot Hill Link can be seen on the skyline, slightly left of centre. About the same distance away, but on the right, is NS4477 : The Black Linn Reservoir.
The Long Crags :: NS4376

The Long Crags, sometimes called the Lang Craigs, are the western escarpment of the Kilpatrick Hills. The lava (Clyde Plateau Volcanic Formation) from which they are made originated in widespread volcanic activity about 350 million years ago, in the Carboniferous Period. The escarpment is shown as "Long Craig" in Roy's Military Survey of Scotland (1740s50s). It gives its name to nearby Lang Craigs Woodland (c.2011): Link
