ST6061 : Wood in place of coal

taken 10 months ago, near to Stanton Wick, Bath And North East Somerset, Great Britain

Wood in place of coal
Wood in place of coal
The large spoil heap created from the old Bromley colliery was partly levelled and planted with trees. Having extracted coal for 97 years, the old site (with its pit head, winding and engine houses) is largely gone. In its place is a modern business park, although the sheep next door are less interested.
