Toddington Manor under scaffolding
Toddington Manor under scaffolding
Toddington Manor has been under scaffolding for many years, undergoing major restoration, here it is viewed from Toddington church churchyard. The house was purchased by Damien Hirst. The house was built 1819-35 to a design bhy its owner Charles Hanbury-Tracey, and is described on the Historic England website as: "A very important Gothic-revival building, detailing largely derived from Perpendicular work at Oxford: thought to have influenced design of Highclere and the Houses of Parliament." Not surprisingly it is Grade I listed, see: LinkExternal link
