The blue plaque on the wall of Lytham Library SD3627 : Lytham Library reads:



Built in 1878 with library, reading rooms,
classrooms and billiards room. It was so popular
that in 1897, to mark Queen Victoria's diamond
jubilee, it was agreed that it should be enlarged.
The extension opened in 1898.

Benefactors included Squire John Talbot and
Lady Eleanor Cecily Clifton, and the
Misses Hewitt of East Beach.

The builder was
Joseph Collinson of Lytham

On the wall underneath the plaque is a defibrillator.
