Cragside is a country house dating from 1864 with three stages of enlargement later in the 19th century. It is located in a dramatic site and surrounded by extensive and beautiful gardens. It was the home of William Armstrong, an industrial scientist, philanthropist and inventor, and is now a National Trust property. Cragside is a Grade I listed building.
