This Daimler SP250 was on display at the annual Maxey Classic Car and Bike Show in August 2018. The model was initially launched as the Daimler Dart in April 1959 and a total of 2,654 were manufactured by the Daimler Company at its plant in Coventry between 1959 and 1964.
The SP250 was capable of a top speed of 123.7 miles per hour. Average fuel consumption was calculated at 25 miles per gallon. The model retailed new in 1960 for £1,489 (GBP 1,489); adjusted for inflation, this was equivalent to £33,056 (GBP 33,056) at 2018 prices. SP250s were employed by a number of police forces in the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand to apprehend speeding motorists.
