Boiler by Galloways Limited of Manchester, dated 1902. Seen during a firing weekend at Ryhope Pumping Station.
Ryhope Pumping Station

The pumping station was opened in 1868 by the Sunderland & South Shields Water Company, closing in 1967 and preserved shortly after. Two fully functioning beam engines are housed in the station and are fired several weekends each year. The beam engines were manufactured by R & W Hawthorne of Newcastle and were used throughout the station's working life.
