Pitstone Windmill
Pitstone Windmill
A track leads straight across this field from a small car park on the B488 to Pitstone Windmill. Part of the National Trust's Ashridge Estate, the mill dates from at least 1627 - a date carved on part of the framework. This is the oldest date to be found on any windmill in Britain. The mill is open to the public for a few hours on summer Sundays.
