The giant 150-ton cantilever fitting-out crane was erected around 1907 on the west side of the fitting-out basin of the Clydebank Shipyard. It was one of the first shipyard cranes to be designed and built by Sir William Arrol & Co and has been designated a B-listed structure by Historic Scotland, in recognition of its historical significance.
