Sacred Heart, Walmsley Road, Leigh

The first church here was opened in 1904. The present church on Walmsley Road SD6500 : Walmesley Road was built on land to the south of that in 1928. The original church was used until recent times as a school but has now been demolished. Restoration work took place in the 1970s and 1990s. Link

The church is in the parish of St Edmund Arrowsmith.
