Swan pit sluice - detail
Swan pit sluice - detail
This sign in the form of a swan marks the location of the Great Hospital's swan pit sluice and the adjacent swan pit, which is the last remaining structure of its kind in England > Link - Link. The plaque was designed by Amelia Hawkins of Norwich City Council - Design, Conservation and Landscape Department, in consultation with the Great Hospital and HEART. The markings were based on a scroll identifying swans which hangs in the Great Hospital. It was installed in 2010.
