The Rookery, Streatham Common
The Rookery, Streatham Common
Although the Rookery includes the wooded area of Streatham Common, the name is mainly associated with the terraced garden that once belonged to a large house here. The house was demolished in 1912 and the gardens were developed by London County Council. The lawn, seen here, is dominated by a cedar of Lebanon tree.
