TQ4490 : Fairlop Underground station, Greater London

taken 6 years ago, near to Barkingside, Redbridge, England

Fairlop Underground station, Greater London
Fairlop Underground station, Greater London
Opened in 1903 by the Great Eastern Railway on the line from Woodford to Ilford, the station became part of London Transport in 1947 and the line was diverted from Ilford to loop round to Leytonstone and thence towards London.
View south towards Barkingside and Leytonstone, also formerly Ilford. Like 55% of the London Underground network, this part is actually overground.
