This sculpture by Auguste-Nicolas Cain was presented to the city of Glasgow in 1867 by John Stewart Kennedy, who had emigrated to New York and made his fortune. A copy was also donated to Central Park in New York and another example stands in Les Jardins Tuileries in Paris.
