This imposing building in a Spanish Baroque style opened in 1901 as the Palace of Fine Arts for the Glasgow International Exhibition. There are some 8,000 exhibits on display including fine art, natural history, arms and armour, and jewellery. It is the most visited museum in the UK outside London.
