J3374 : The Buoys, Donegall Street, Belfast (September 2018)
taken 8 years ago, near to Belfast, Co Antrim, Northern Ireland

The buoys stood outside the Art College, (part of the University of Ulster), at the corner of Donegall Street and York Street. When erected in 1979 they were quite a novelty and included jets of water squirting from below. Time (and various elements of aerosol society) has not treated them well. The jets of water are no more. They were a gift from the Commissioners of Irish Lights.
Subsequently moved to the Titanic Quarter.
A selection of photographs showing some of the buildings and the undeveloped sites in the Titanic Quarter, Belfast. The area includes 185 acres of the former Harland & Wolff shipyard. The new buildings cover a range of uses including apartments, offices, hotel, a college, the Public Record Office for Northern Ireland and the “Titanic Belfast”.
