Sumburgh Home Farm
Sumburgh Home Farm
Sumburgh Home Farm is a farm complex comprising a late seventeenth century farmhouse, with 18th and early 19th century barns immediately to north and east of the house. It was built to replace the Old House of Sumburgh at Jarlshof (HU3909 : The Old House of Sumburgh) . This "old, plain, family mansion, seated in the middle of the green sward of Sumburgh" was eventually replaced in the later nineteenth century by Sumburgh House (now HU3909 : The Sumburgh Hotel). The Farm is a category B listed building (LB5412 LinkExternal link Historic Environment Scotland).
