TQ1973 : Track towards Richmond Gate

taken 6 years ago, near to Ham, Richmond Upon Thames, England

Track towards Richmond Gate
Track towards Richmond Gate
This track now forms part of the Capital Ring but its origins are very much older. In early aerial photographs it shows up as a wide, well-worn, eroded track. The likelihood is that it was a well-established track before the Park was enclosed by Charles I - serving as a direct route from Richmond to Wimbledon.
