Church of SS Peter & Paul - vaulted roof
A fine example of neo-classical architecture with a vaulted roof supported on columns with Ionic capitals.
Church of St Peter and St Paul, Blandford Forum
This Grade 1 listed Anglican parish church dominates the market place of the Dorset town and officially counts as one of England's "Major Churches". The mediaeval church was re-built after a fire in 1732-1739 to designs by John and William Bastard. The intended spire was truncated to a tower with a cupola. A west gallery was added in 1794, side galleries in 1836-7 and a chancel in 1896.
