Repairing Church Lane #3
After several years of reporting potholes and the break up of the road surfaces the residents of Eaton are gladly putting up with a week of road closures and disruption.
After the asphalt paver has spread the new layer of Tarmac the surface is levelled off by workmen with rakes. (I was told by a garden contractor that asphalt rakes are the best for levelling large areas of soil in the initial preparation for lawns as well!) There is also a man with a shovel to clear up any stray bits of Tarmac from the road surface that's not being repaired. In the foreground the workman is using an industrial blower to clear other debris from the edges of the patch prior to the final sealing to the old surface. In the background the paver driver is supervising the reloading of his machinery.
