Looking down into the central well of the LAA position, it's been suggested that the remains of the gun mounting in the centre meant that the weapon used was probably of a heavier calibre than the more usual Lewis or Bren gun. However on closer examination, to my eye, it looks to be the badly corroded remains of a 'Motley Stalk', or at least something similar, which was just the type of mounting used for a Bren or a Lewis gun used in the light anti-aircraft role.
