Viewing platform at Thrislington National Nature Reserve
The Thrislington NNR has quarries, working and abandoned, all around it; Thrislington Quarry operated by Tarmac lies to the north and is enormous. The information board tells that the vegetation at the site, particularly the grassland, has developed due to underlying magnesian limestone.
