River Thames: Shadwell New Basin Entrance
River Thames: Shadwell New Basin Entrance
Now sealed, the entrance to Shadwell New Basin once had one lock, then two. The entrance to the Old Basin was on the far left. The Grade II Listed Shadwell Dock Stairs are far right. Several London landmarks including The Gherkin are visible on the horizon.

The Rotherhithe Tunnel goes under the river in the foreground.
