The western section of Muchall Park now consists of beautiful mature trees and a "wild" open area which just a rough cut of the grass in early autumn.
In evening October sunlight, the red leaves on this large tree are particularly vibrant. Geograph forum discussion has identified this as Caucasian or Claret Ash, Fraxinus angustifolia 'Raywood', also known as Fraxinus oxycarpa 'Raywood'.
