The building with the water tower, and one hidden behind it in this view, are part of the Great Western Railway station, built 1856 by Isambard Kingdom Brunel and in use until 1932 for passengers (thereafter for goods, during which time it was functionally altered). Listed grade 2 (list entry 1232134). This building is now the railway social club.
