Whittingham Tower
A secure tower like this would be a sensible investment in times of trouble in the border area. The lower part of the tower has stonework of the 14thC, but the windows are most likely 16th or 17thC, whilst the whole building was restored in 1845 by Lady Ravensworth. The ground floor door, visible here is from this time.
