NZ2464 : The former Lord Collingwood pub

taken 7 years ago, near to Gateshead, England

The former Lord Collingwood pub
The former Lord Collingwood pub
This is now an amusement arcade but was formerly the Lord Collingwood. It forms a pair with the Duke of Northumberland at the other end of Clayton Street, and stands on the corner with Nelson Street. It was built in 1837 as part of Richards Graingers rebuilding of Newcastle city centre. The façade is very little changed from the original, unlike its twin, which has been modified.
