Howitzer convoy, Bristol Street, Swindon
Howitzer convoy, Bristol Street, Swindon
During the Great War, Howitzer field guns were manufactured in the Great Western railway factory, the wall of which can be seen behind the convoy. As part of the commemoration of the end of that conflict, the convoy comprising traction engines, a replica of the Howitzer and its ancillary shell supply is being towed through Swindon on this day.
