taken 3 years ago, near to Manchester, Great Britain

The view is across the tram tracks out of Victoria Station. The old building in view is Hanover House SJ8498 : Hanover Building, Corporation Street, Manchester built for the Co-operative Wholesale Society in 1905. Behind it can be seen the CIS Tower SJ8498 : Co-operative Insurance Society Tower, Miller Street, Manchester (1) constructed in 1959-62 to the design of George C Hay. On the left is the new HQ of the Cooperative movement at 1 Angel Square which opened in 2012 SJ8499 : One, Angel Square.
The Hanover Building, standing on Corporation Street between Hanover Street and Balloon Street, forms part of the Co-operative Estate in Manchester which includes the CIS Tower and One Angel Square. built for the Co-operative Wholesale Society between 1905 and 1909, it is a Grade II Listed Building ( (Historic England List Entry Number: 1025287 Link
).
The building was the head office for the CWS, which began trading in Manchester in 1863 (a continuation of the Rochdale Pioneers Society of 1844). The façade has pilasters and Corinthian order columns and the roof is concealed by parapet walls. When it was first built, it had domes on some of the corners and there was another floor which housed the Mitchell Memorial Hall (see postcard image at LinkManchester History Net). This upper storey was destroyed in the Manchester Blitz of 1940-41 and never rebuilt. The building was later extended to fill the block, as were several of the later Co-operative buildings.
The CIS Tower is an office skyscraper on Miller Street in Manchester, England. It was completed in 1962 and rises to 387 feet in height. The Grade II listed building Link
, which houses the Co-operative Banking Group, is Manchester's second-tallest building and the tallest office building in the United Kingdom outside London.
One Angel Square is the twenty first century landmark building, in Manchester, which serves as the head office of the Co-operative Group. Construction of One Angel Square was originally scheduled for completion in September 2012 however opening was postponed until 2013 due to delays.
The building is the first phase of 53° NOMA an £800 million mixed-use redevelopment project focusing on revitalising an area of 22 acres to the north of Manchester city centre; an area which has not undergone the large scale redevelopment seen in other central areas of the city.
The branding 53° NOMA was chosen because 53° is the latitude co-ordinate for the area. NOMA is thought to have been chosen as an acronym for NO(rth) MA(nchester) although that has not been confirmed.
