taken 5 years ago, near to Shoreditch, Islington, England
London Overground train at Hoxton
A London Overground train arriving at Hoxton station in inner London.
This section of railway had been built to reach a terminus at Broad Street, in the City of London. The line closed in 1986. It reopened in 2010 as part of the London Overground system. Instead of running to Broad Street, it forms an extension to the East London Line which runs through the Thames Tunnel into south east London.
The line is electrified using a third rail.
