Nun Street in Newcastle
Nun Street in Newcastle
Viewed looking west up this short street off Grainger Street in the city centre. It forms the south side of the Grainger Market, seen on the right. The Northumberland Arms with its distinct semi circular window projections frames the far end. The name comes from the medieval nunnery of St Bartholomew which once stood here.
