The Sedgewick Stone, Dent
The Sedgewick Stone, Dent
Dent was formerly in the West Riding of Yorkshire and is now in Cumbria. It is the only village in Dent Dale and is famed for its cobbled narrow streets. This was a fine evening after a fine sunny day. For more about Dent see LinkExternal link

Dent's most famous personality is Adam Sedgewick. He was born in Dent in 1785 and went on to become Professor of Geology at Cambridge and became one of the pioneers of geology. On the left is a fountain shaped from a solid block of Shap granite in memory of Adam Sedgewick. The church can be seen beyond.
