Peakirk village cross on Remembrance Sunday
Remembrance Sunday coincided with Armistice Day (November 11th.) in 2018, commemorating the centenary of the end of the First World War. Poppy wreaths were laid at the village cross in Peakirk to mark the occasion.
The stone cross is located at the junction of St. Pega's Road, Rectory Lane and Chestnut Close. It was erected in 1904 by the Reverend Edward James, who served as Rector of Peakirk between 1865 and 1912. The cross was designated as a Grade II listed structure in 1982.
