North Gate, Carrickfergus
North Gate, Carrickfergus
The North Gate is the only remaining stone gateway into the ancient walled town of Carrickfergus. Parts date from the 17th century but it was altered in the 18th and 19th centuries and extensive repairs were necessary in 1982 after a lorry attempted to pass through it.
