The Low Cross dates from the eighteenth century and is a copy of the slightly older High Cross.
Appleby has been having trouble with its Christmas lights this year. I was told it took three attempts at the switch-on this year to get them to work. When I took this picture the lights were only working on one side of Boroughgate.
