Quantum Leap sculpture, Shrewsbury
Another view of Shrewsbury's "Slinky". This was created in 2009 to celebrate the bicentenary of Charles Darwin's birth. According to the sculpture's Wikipedia entry, the total cost of construction exceeded 1 million - more than the much larger and more famous "Angel of the North" sculpture - with just under half that money coming from the public purse.
