NY8836 : Mine site on northern slope of Chapel Fell

The mine which is above the west side of Daddryshield Burn is an old one but has also seen recent working. The spoil heap is an old one but the mine entrance, (unseen in the image but to the left of the container), has been enlarged recently and new equipment has been installed. It's possible to walk into the level by about 50 m. to where there's a secured gate. Just before the gate there's a ruined mine tub which presumably dates from an earlier working period. The green container will surely be for the secure storage of equipment.
