Lightwaves 2018 - The Squirrel
The Lightwaves 2018 festival was held between 7th and 16th December. As in previous years, the free event featured a range of impressive light displays and playful art installations; some returning and some newly created. The squirrel sculpture, which formed part of the Unnatural Borders installation at MediaCityUK last May, returned for the event. The sculpture was illuminated at night with the use of projection mapping technology creating a stunning visual display of ever-changing patterns of lights and colour.

Quays Culture - Lightwaves
Lightwaves claims to be the UK’s largest free outdoor digital art light show. The annual festival, hosted by Quays Culture, showcases an eclectic programme of digital light art, taking over public spaces in Salford Quays and MediaCityUK each December. Each year, Lightwaves features new and exclusively commissioned digital art displays alongside tableaux borrowed from the Blackpool Illuminations.
