Biomass silos, Drax Power Station
As of 2019, four of the six generating sets at Drax have been converted to biomass (mainly wood pellet) fuel, but are responsible for over two thirds of the output as the remaining coal fired boilers are used intermittently. These are planned to be replaced by two gas turbine units.
