Cromford Railway Station - active platform
Cromford Railway Station - active platform
Cromford Station was opened by the Manchester, Buxton, Matlock and Midlands Junction Railway in 1849. All the station buildings are preserved and are listed as Grade II by English Heritage. Illustrated in the picture is what was originally the down side of the station immediately ahead of the Willersley tunnel. The buildings have been restored by the Arkwright Society who have them on a lease and are now used as offices, the station being unmanned.
