Stretton Aqueduct near Brewood, Staffordshire
Stretton Aqueduct near Brewood, Staffordshire
The cast iron aqueduct was built by Sir Thomas Telford in 1832. It carries the canal across Watling Street, formerly a Roman Road, later the very busy A5, but now less so since the advent of motorways. A boatyard thrives on the left beyond the aqueduct.
