Trig Point on Traprain Law at Sunset
Traprain Law about 221m in elevation is a familiar landmark in East Lothian. It has a trig point, a modern drystone wind shelter and now a herd of Exmoor ponies. It is the site of a hill fort which was once home to the Votadini tribe who controlled much of East Lothian. In 1919 a hoard of Roman silver was discovered by archaeologists and is now held in the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh.
