THe bridge is in two different parishes, with the north end being in King's Caple Parish and the south end being in the Parish of Sellack. It was built in 1895 in the Aberdeen ironowrks of Louis Harper, whose architectural signatre was the spherical cast iron finials visible on the top of the towers.
