Fawley Chapel
Fawley Chapel
A shot of the simple stone chapel of St John the Baptist on the banks of the River Wye at Fawley Chapel. The building dates from the 12th Century with modifications dating from the 16th and 17th centuries. Apparently the north nave doorway is "Round headed, single order, blocked" and features "Jambs and arch form[ing] a continuous order with a slight chamfer. There is a quirked hollow chamfered label with no stops, the ends chamfered off at arch springing level". I have no idea what any of this means.
