Horton-in-Ribblesdale station is a small station on the Settle to Carlisle Line.
The station is served and managed by Northern Rail as are all the trains calling at the station.
In the 1950s and 1960s under stationmaster Taylor, Horton won the Best Kept Station award for seventeen consecutive years. The station lost its passenger service in 1970, but reopened in July 1986, along with several other local stations on the line.
The Settle to Carlisle Line is a 73 mile long main railway line in northern England. It was constructed in the 1870s. It is generally recognised as one of the most attractive railway lines in the country as it crosses the Yorkshire Dales.
