Carved stone plaque by the A277, in parish of LEWES (LEWES District), High Street, No. 99/100; in wall of timber framed house, now a bookshop, high in wall of house, over doorway, on South side of road. Erected by an unknown authority in the 18th century.

Inscription reads:-

FROM THE STANDARD
IN CORNHILL
49 TO WESTMINSTER BRIDGE
8 MILES TO BRIGHTHELMSTONE

99/100 High Street is Grade II listed.
