Black-headed Gulls beside the Tyne
Black-headed Gulls beside the Tyne
In winter, the dark (chocolate-brown not black) head of the Black-headed Gull is lost and the only reminder of summer plumage is a dark patch behind the eye - although there seems to be one exception. One of the piers of Hexham Bridge can be seen beyond.
