The Giant, Cerne Abbas
The Giant, Cerne Abbas
Unique chalk figure of a naked man cut into the hillside as seen from Giant View.
The first reference in history was in 1694, although the origin and age remains unknown. It possibly represents some fertility symbol, but all is open to conjecture.
It is best seen from the air.
It is recorded as a schedued monument.
